Top 5 Happy Hours in Vacaville

Happy Hour (n) – a cocktail hour or longer period at a bar, during which drinks are served at reduced prices or with free snacks. In the 1920s, “happy hour” was a casual Navy term for the scheduled period of entertainment on-ship (usually drinking was involved). During the prohibition era, civilians held “cocktail hours” at speakeasies before they would go out to dinner. This tradition of dining on inexpensive drinks and appetizers has evolved into a fun way for co-workers to blow off steam after work usually between the hours of 4-7pm.

In Vacaville, there are a ton of great happy hours. I picked 5 local hot spots at random that know the meaning of Happy Hour.

Web Content & Social Media Manager at the Vacaville CVB

Hey everyone, this is my first post as the Web Content & Social Media Manager at the Vacaville CVB (that’s Conference & Visitors Bureau for short, BTW). A little about me? My name is Joey Combs, a recent graduate from Chico State University in Northern California. I graduated with a degree in Communications and Public Affairs and minored in Managing for Sustainability. I am a Theta Chi Fraternity alumni and was a member of the Chico State Speech and Debate team for a year. Right now, I am heading up social media marketing campaigns for the Vacaville CVB. Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, WordPress, Youtube…you name it, I’m on it. Social media is a passion for me and I love how companies, non-profits, news affiliates, and local governments are using S.M. (social media) to its full advantage to connect with audiences all over the world. The reason we started this blog was to form a more transparent connection between our constituents and our office. What does the Vacaville CVB do? Why do we do it? How do we do it? These are all questions people have and we are more than happy to answer them. This blog will keep you up to date on our day to day activities as well as upcoming events in the Vacaville area (Oktoberfest anyone?). Follow us on Twitter @vacaville_cvb and “like” our Facebook page for more info!
